Navi mumbai:Winner Murali Kumar

City man Murali Kumar outmuscled his competition and won the state-level annual bodybuilding competition held at Vishnudas Bhave auditorium on Thursday.




Kumar, who is from the city but represented the navy, outclassed his teammate Hari Prasad to win the 'Navi Mumbai Mayor Shree' crown.


Prasad was given the title of most improved bodybuilder. Over 200 men flexed their muscles, vying for the Rs 3.5 lakh prize money.



Apart from the state level competition, a local league contest was also held on the same platform, where as many as 50 men from the city participated. Defending champion Jagdish Lad retained the title of Navi Mumbai Area Shree crown.



"My persistent hard work and perseverance paid off. I am quite excited that I could retain the title for third consecutive year," said Lad, who won Rs 25,000 in cash as a prize.
